WE ACT's work is deeply rooted in reducing air pollution, with our first two major campaigns - our original campaign against the North River Sewage Treatment Plant and our <a href=\"https:\/\/weact.org\/programs\/dirty-diesel-campaign\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dirty Diesel<\/a> bus campaign - successfully reducing major sources of air pollution in our community. We have gone on to lead the way with our ground breaking indoor air pollution pilot study, <a href=\"https:\/\/weact.org\/programs\/out-of-gas-in-with-justice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Out of Gas, In with Justice<\/a>."},"page_layout":[{"acf_fc_layout":"layout_wysiwyg","acfe_flexible_toggle":"","component_wysiwyg":{"content":"<strong>CLIMATE JUSTICE WORKING GROUP<\/strong>\r\nClimate change is already causing devastating local and global harm. In New York City, we are facing hotter and deadlier heat waves, more devastating storm damage, and flooding. Centuries of racist disinvestment in communities of color have left us less unprepared and more vulnerable to the negative health impacts of climate change. WE ACT\u2019s <wbr \/>Climate Justice Working Group tackles the dual crises of climate change and racism by building community power and taking control of the decisions and the systems that impact our lives. Our actions prioritize the health of our communities through environmental, political, and economic justice.\r\n\r\nThe group meets on the third Tuesday of every month from 6:30-7:30 PM.
