In this role, she works to expand WE ACT\u2019s international advocacy and beauty justice efforts by reviewing environmental treaties and investigating the presence of toxic chemicals in cosmetics. Particularly, she aims to understand the manufacture, trade, sale, and advertising of skin lightening products and their resulting impacts on women of color.\r\n\r\nMae recently graduated Princeton University with a degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, minoring in Environmental and Latin American Studies. Through her courses and previous work experience at Women\u2019s Earth Alliance, she learned the necessity of holding community-based, POC-, women-, and Global South-led work at the center of the environmental movement.
