The Dare to Breathe campaign was part of this effort, raising awareness about the inequitable impact of air pollution on communities of color and lobbying federal agencies to improve regulations so that our communities can breathe.<\/span>\r\n\r\nCoalition member organizations include:<\/span>\r\n\r\nAlternatives for Community and Environment<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Connecticut Coalition for Environmental and Economic Justice<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Duwamish River Community Coalition<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Green Door Initiative<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>GreenLatinos<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>New Jersey Environmental Justice Alliance<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>RiSE for Environmental Justice<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>South Bronx Unite<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Texas Environmental Justice Advocacy Services<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>WE ACT for Environmental Justice<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>West Atlanta Watershed Alliance,<\/span><\/a> West End Revitalization Association<\/span><\/a>, and <\/span>Wisconsin Green Muslims<\/span><\/a>.<\/span>\r\n

OUR PRINCIPLES<\/b><\/h2>\r\nFrontlines to the Front<\/b>\r\nOur communities are centers of power, knowledge, stories and solutions. Far too many of our environmental justice communities have their lungs damaged or their lives cut short, so they must be <\/span>first in line to benefit from pollution reductions<\/span>. Enhancing our communities\u2019 health will unlock more leadership, joy, culture, and creativity into the world.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nThe Audacity of the Facts<\/b>\r\nThe silent killer of toxic air is worse than most people think \u2013 especially considering the inequities of who breathes the most polluted air in America: primarily communities of color and low-income. We are highlighting <\/span>the most shameful and shocking ways that air quality segregation is experienced across the United States<\/span>, educating to spark awareness and action \u2013 and demanding swift, aggressive action from the EPA.<\/span>\r\n\r\nClean Air to Thrive, Not Just Survive<\/b>\r\nClean air isn\u2019t a privilege, it\u2019s a human right.<\/span> Our friends and family<\/span> members lose years of their lives and live with debilitating illnesses caused or amplified by bad air.
