This latest wave of terror will have devastating public health consequences for the communities we serve in northern Manhattan and throughout the U.S. The dangerous impact of the stress and trauma of separating children from their families is both immediate and long-term, from impeding the child\u2019s brain development to cardiovascular disease, and threatens to compound existing health disparities faced by underserved communities.<\/p>\n
Keeping families together and safe from the trauma of detention and deportation is essential to our vision of healthy and just communities.
