According to the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), the number of mold complaints in New York City has increased significantly in recent years. \u00a0Medical experts have identified certain kinds of mold as the cause of many health problems. In the short term, exposure to these toxic species is likely to cause headaches, sinus congestion, shortness of breath, and skin irritation. In the long-term, toxic mold exposure can make individuals more prone to headaches and can result in permanent respiratory probelms, chronic fatigue syndrome, and in rare cases, centeral nervous system problems. This report provides clear recommendations to prevent, reduce and remove mold from indoor environments.<\/p>\n
