WASHINGTON, DC<\/strong> \u2013 Congressman A. Donald McEachin (D-VA), co-chair of the Congressional Black Caucus\u00a0Energy, Environment and Agriculture Task Force, in partnership with WE ACT for Environmental Justice, will host a briefing on ways\u00a0to transition to an inclusive renewable energy economy powered by green-collar jobs. The briefing will be held on February 26 from\u00a010 to 11 a.m. in Rayburn House Office Building, Room 2325.<\/p>\r\nPrograms that address climate change and economic inequality continue to gain in popularity across the country. This briefing is\u00a0being convened to inform legislators, community groups and other stakeholders about grassroots work that demonstrates the\u00a0feasibility of inclusive renewable energy policies that promote well-paying, green-collar jobs for Americans including frontline\u00a0communities, vulnerable populations and Indigenous Peoples.<\/p>\r\n
\u201cWith the new national focus on creating legislation that addresses climate change, our failing infrastructure and economic\u00a0inequities associated with systemic racism, it\u2019s imperative that frontline communities actively participate and lead in creating\u00a0solutions,\u201d said Kerene N.
