Please see full letter <a href=\"https:\/\/weact.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/FY26-EPA-EJ-Funding-Request-Community-Letter.pdf\">here.<\/a><\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Albert Yuan, Legislative Coordinator, WE ACT for Environmental Justice responds:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\r\n<blockquote>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWE ACT for Environmental Justice is proud to be joined by over 90 organizations in a united call for full funding of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in fiscal year 2026, including full funding of the agency\u2019s environmental justice programs. These organizations represent both frontline advocates and leaders, as well as allies of the environmental justice movement.\"<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe current administration\u2019s actions to terminate federal grants and environmental justice positions are completely illegal and threaten the health and safety of communities across the U.S., <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.epa.gov\/sciencematters\/study-finds-exposure-air-pollution-higher-people-color-regardless-region-or-income\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">particularly working class and communities of color that have historically lived with the brunt of pollution, toxins, and hazardous waste<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. These communities need remediation, restoration, investment, and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">justice, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">not more pollution and broken promises.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe call on Congress to reject the administration\u2019s proposed 65% cut to the EPA and instead fully fund the agency, ensure the immediate release of illegally rescinded federal funds, and provide assurances that unlawfully terminated staff and offices will be reinstated and fully staffed into the future.
