Mae Kennedy

Global Advocacy and Environmental Health Fellow

New York City

Mae Kennedy (she/her) is the Global Advocacy and Environmental Health Fellow at WE ACT for Environmental Justice. In this role, she works to expand WE ACT’s international advocacy and beauty justice efforts by reviewing environmental treaties and investigating the presence of toxic chemicals in cosmetics. Particularly, she aims to understand the manufacture, trade, sale, and advertising of skin lightening products and their resulting impacts on women of color.

Mae recently graduated Princeton University with a degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, minoring in Environmental and Latin American Studies. Through her courses and previous work experience at Women’s Earth Alliance, she learned the necessity of holding community-based, POC-, women-, and Global South-led work at the center of the environmental movement. Intersectional grassroots justice grounds her work at WE ACT and beyond.
