LEARN HOW TO BECOME A POWERFUL COMMUNITY ACTIVIST!
WE ACT created the award-winning Environmental Justice Leadership Training program to develop the next generation of environmental justice activists. The curriculum introduces community members to environmental health and justice, while building skills in advocacy, organizing, research, and campaign work. EHJLT participants will be equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to organize around a wide range of issues, including air quality and pollution, energy justice, exposure to toxic products, healthy homes and housing justice, climate resilience, and green infrastructure solutions.
This program requires a commitment! Because of the high demand and limited availability, we ask that you only register if you can commit to attending all 7 weeks of the course (6 class meetings and the graduation ceremony). The classes will be held weekly on Tuesdays from 6:00-8:00 PM at our office on the second floor of 1854 Amsterdam Avenue (at the corner of West 152nd Street): January 19th, January 26th, February 2nd, February 9th, February 16th, February 23rd, and March 2nd. Dinner will be provided, though the class is only available in English. Graduates will receive a small gift and certificate completion. Register
