New York City’s Environmental Justice Report & Upcoming Plan

On April 29, 2024, the New York City Mayor’s Office of Climate & Environmental Justice released the Environmental Justice NYC (EJNYC) report and mapping tool, a comprehensive citywide assessment of environmental justice issues, which we believe to be the first of its kind in the nation. We encourage you to read the report and explore the mapping tool to better understand environmental justice in New York City and how your community is being impacted.

Later this year, we will begin hosting events in environmental justice communities across the city to engage with those most impacted to identify the issues they feel need to be prioritized in their community. If you would like to participate in that, please click here to let us know. The input we gather will help the City develop its EJNYC Plan, which is designed to address the issues identified in the 2024 report.
