New York City’s Environmental Justice Report & Upcoming Plan
On April 29, 2024, the New York City Mayor’s Office of Climate & Environmental Justice released the Environmental Justice NYC (EJNYC) report and mapping tool, a comprehensive citywide assessment of environmental justice issues, which we believe to be the first of its kind in the nation. We encourage you to read the report and explore the mapping tool to better understand environmental justice in New York City and how your community is being impacted.
EJNYC Plan
The next step in this process is for the city to develop the EJNYC Plan, which is designed to address the issues identified in the report. We are planning to host events in all five boroughs to gather community input – recommended solutions – and environmental and climate justice issues impacting all of the city’s environmental justice communities. If you would like to participate in that, please click here to let us know. Out first such event will be on Dec. 6th, 2025 in West Harlem (RSVP).
