Turn Science into Solidarity

The Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS), WE ACT for Environmental Justice, and Louisiana community leaders invite you to join a powerful toxic tour exploring the realities of environmental injustice in the Gulf South.
Hosted in partnership with Healthy Gulf, the tour will take participants to fenceline communities impacted by industrial pollution and ongoing restoration efforts.

Through first-hand storytelling, local expertise, and site visits, tour participants will learn about how residents are confronting air and water pollution, advocating for change, and advancing community-led science and environmental justice.
This immersive experience will connect tour participants and environmental researchers to the lived realities of the people most affected by climate and environmental inequities, transforming data into empathy, science into solidarity, and observation into action.
Who Should Attend:
- Attendees of the American Geophysical Union Annual Meeting interested in environmental justice, community-based research, or applied geoscience.
- Scientists, policy advocates, and students in Louisiana seeking to understand real-world EJ challenges.
- UCS Science Network members and supporters; funders, journalists, and policymakers looking to connect research to justice-centered community needs.
- Anyone committed to learning from frontline communities leading environmental change.
