How Does WE ACT Advance Environmental Justice?
Our theory of change has four interconnected components. The first is Organizing, which WE ACT uses to develop community-based solutions and build the power needed to enact them. The second is Research, leading community-based participatory research and working with academic partners to better understand the issues and potential solutions. The third is Education and Training, which are used to better inform members, allies, and elected officials as well as to develop new leaders for the movement and provide skills training to keep jobs generated by our advocacy efforts – such as solar installation – within the community. And the fourth is Advocacy, developing and pursuing policy recommendations to address these issues at the city, state, and federal levels.
