Travis Carter is a Community Organizer at WE ACT for Environmental Justice. Born in London, England and raised in Staten Island, Travis brings a global perspective to his work in New York City. A dedicated public servant and community advocate with a strong background in government and civic engagement, he previously served as the Staten Island Borough Advocate for the Office of the New York Public Advocate, where he addressed constituent concerns, advocated for policy changes, hosted community forums. Travis also served as a tenant organizer which fostered community partnerships to build power to advocate for equitable social housing, utilizing strong connections with local stakeholders through community relations. Travis received his BA from Oakwood University with a concentration in Political Science.
