WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman A. Donald McEachin (D-VA), co-chair of the Congressional Black Caucus Energy, Environment and Agriculture Task Force, in partnership with WE ACT for Environmental Justice, will host a briefing on ways to transition to an inclusive renewable energy economy powered by green-collar jobs. The briefing will be held on February 26 from 10 to 11 a.m. in Rayburn House Office Building, Room 2325.

Programs that address climate change and economic inequality continue to gain in popularity across the country. This briefing is being convened to inform legislators, community groups and other stakeholders about grassroots work that demonstrates the feasibility of inclusive renewable energy policies that promote well-paying, green-collar jobs for Americans including frontline communities, vulnerable populations and Indigenous Peoples.

“With the new national focus on creating legislation that addresses climate change, our failing infrastructure and economic inequities associated with systemic racism, it’s imperative that frontline communities actively participate and lead in creating solutions,” said Kerene N. Tayloe, Esq, who serves as Director of Federal Legislative Affairs at WE ACT. “We are pleased to support Congressman McEachin in highlighting the work of entrepreneurs and advocates who have been supporting a renewable energy economy and working to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels while creating economic opportunities for the communities they serve.”
