NEW YORK, NY – One year after the historic People’s Climate March, when 400,000 people crowded the streets of New York City, WE ACT for Environmental Justice, in collaboration with the Peoples Climate Movement will hold a rally at the Harlem State Office Building to demand action on climate change from local, statewide and congressional leaders. This action is a part of a 100 city National Day of Action
WHAT: Residents of Northern Manhattan and the Bronx will take to the streets to propose real solutions to the climate crisis.
WHO: The event will feature speeches from residents of Taft Houses, WE ACT Deputy Director, Cecil D. Corbin-Mark, Council Member, Mark Levine, State Senator, Bill Perkins and Congressman, Charlie Rangel.

In the buildup to the important negotiations in Paris later this year, Harlem will join more than 100 cities and communities around the country in the People’s Climate Movement’s National Day of Action on October 14 to demand bold action on climate change and link local action to global action in Paris in December 2015.
