Washington, D.C — Yesterday, Donald Trump signed two executive actions to advance the Dakota Access Pipeline and Keystone XL. In response, WE ACT’s Federal Policy Director Dr. Adrienne Hollis issued the following statement:
“With a few strokes of a pen, Donald Trump has attempted to reverse what has been one of the most successful grassroots movements for environmental and climate justice in history. His actions will put billions at risk from climate change, and threaten tribal sovereignty, sacred land, and community health. While we know that few permanent jobs will be created through the construction of both pipelines, Trump’s administration has falsely toted this as a jobs creator. It is not the magic jobs bullet we need during our current global climate crisis. WE ACT continues to stand with Standing Rock and Keystone communities in their fight for environmental justice and resistance to polluting, corporate control of their land.“
